[Sunday Purpose Notes] Your 1st Event - What Purpose & Profit Taught Me...

Happy Sunday Reader,

It's another Sunday Purpose Note. I believe what you do on Sunday, sets the tone for your week and Sunday has been my weekly planning day for about 6 years now.

I'm happy I get to share it with you. I get to tell you what I'm working on and to share some of my best tips with you! As you know I held my first big conference in Trinidad & Tobago last week. Purpose & Profit Conference 2024 (See some highlights below)

Reader what I'm not sure I told you is that I was my own event planner (probably won't do that on my own again) lol. The execution was perfection, better than I imagined. It took about 3 months of intense commitment to marketing, coordination, creating, outreach, training and an incredible volunteer team. Your first BIG event is a seed.

It's fuelled by your personal belief, dedication and drive. Don't outsource your first event, be very active in the process so you can get the execution to mirror the mental picture you have in your mind. You'll also learn what you need as you grow.

Tips: In your marketing, the reader doesn't know what to expect when they attend. You have to articulate as clear as possible what you are creating. We all have internal definitions, so words must be used to paint clear pictures of outcomes.

Don't get tired of talking about it. I assure you everyone hasn't seen it and those who have need on average 7-13 touch points to decide. Don't get tired of sharing. I promise you, no one is tired and the ones that are probably won't ever attend, won't work with you and may not be impacted by your brand. AND That's okay!!! mmmkay.

It's the God model, leaves the 99 to go after the 1. If you touch 1 the assignment was worth it. With 7.9 billion people on the earth, you're guaranteed to touch more than 1.

DO have capital, do not rely fully on ticket sales, sponsors, donors. Unless you are doing a virtual event with little to no overhead, you will experience a lot of moving parts be prepared financially.

Build your own relationships with vendors. This seed will create life long bonds. They will share their experience, not just about the event, but about working with you. When I get my head much clearer I will probably convert this into a workshop or maybe a course. I've learnt so much, I think partnering with others to have successful events may pop up on my 2025 goals lol (It's too fresh so definitely not now) lol.

The reviews will be rewarding when prayer meets planning and execution.

Thank you for all the kind words, encouragement, sponsorship, those who attended. As we wrap up the first half of 2024 become relentless about your pursuit of the WINS you desire for the rest of the year. It's half time, which means we don't lose intensity, we turn it all the way up. Opportunities lost are sometimes never regained. It's go time!

Your partner in planning, profit and purpose,

Crisha Sarah Bowen

The Trip That Re-Introduced Me To Myself

I almost didn’t go. The Entrepreneur Speaker Experience with my coach, mentor, and partner in success Marcus Y. Rosier was just days away, and life had been life-ing. We booked my ticket last minute, unsure if I could really make it. But I went…and I’m so glad I did. Because every time I travel, my worldview stretches. I don’t just see the people I’m called to serve; I get to meet a new version of me. When the host announced, “Coach Crisha is in the building,” the room erupted. Our clients...

Hey Reader, I know my Sunday note subject today probably has you curious. You're wondering, what are we going to do next? How is this even connected to purposeful inspiration this week. My mentor says "people invite you to do on their stage, what they see you doing on your own." Marcus Y. Rosier But....How on earth are you going to host your own event? What is this going to cost? Who will speak? What venue will you use? What will you say? I tend to always push people out of fixed mindsets....

Reader, another new week is ahead! Relationships matter; they’re an essential part of life. I think back to all those songs from the 90s and 2000s about being independent, as if it were a badge of honor. Quotes that said you didn't need anyone, only me, myself and I, that aren't founded in strong core values. But real strength lies in the truth that we are designed to be interdependent. When I got back from vacation, I had a rough week. My dad suddenly fell ill with a viral infection, which I...
